This folding rope chair was made by Maruni Mokko in the 1950’s. A design that wraps up the body with a tension stretched with a rope on the seat surface and a seat on the back. 

Maruni Mokko started as ‘Showa Mageki Koujou’ in 1928 and became ‘Maruni Co. Ltd.’ In 1933. Since 2005, they are selling under the brand “next maruni” a production of contemporary design, as for instance the stool presented in all Apple stores. Jasper Morrison, Sanaa and Nendo are among the designers present in their catalog.
